Program in the Spotlight Wilderness Adventures runs summer programs that focus on multi-activity backcountry travel. Incredible Adventures specializes in small group single and multi-day tours in the San Francisco Bay Area, with destinations including Yosemite National Park, Muir Woods, Napa & Sonoma Wine Country, Big Sur, and Lake Tahoe.

Program in the Spotlight Are you a fun, outgoing adventurer who wants to share your love of the outdoors with others? Incredible Adventures is seeking enthusiastic Tour Guide/Drivers who are reliable, safety-driven, organized, and desire adventure. On single day trips, Guides will pick-up and drop-off passengers at San Francisco hotels and provide informational narrative throughout the tour. On multi-day adventures, Guides will arrange daily logistics, outdoor and evening activities, sightseeing excursions, and teach sustainable travel, camping etiquette and cooking skills. Wages are per trip, with half-day wages starting at $85 and full-day wages ranging up to $300/day, not including tips. Wages for overnight, multi-day tours are per trip and range from $275-$525, plus tips. Applicants must be at least 23 years of age and have or be willing to obtain a Class C Commercial Driver's license with Passenger Endorsement (training provided for the right candidates). Program in the Spotlight Located in the scenic San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, Pali Adventures is seeking Summer Camp Counselors with skills in the following activity areas: water sports, boat driving, lifeguarding, ropes, action sports, street art (spray painting), culinary, fashion/sewing, motorsports, DJing, film/broadcasting, fine arts, Hollywood stunts (high falls/stage combat), Ninja Warrior & Parkour, gymnastics, LARP, movie make up (SFX trained preferable) and rock star. Responsibilities include teaching a specialty, a variety of different electives, dressing up for the evening activity and, of course, making sure each camper is having fun and feels that you are there for them. Benefits include a competitive wage, room and board, paid staff training (CPR/first aid certification provided) and being able to share your passion with the next generation of aspiring adventurers. Cool Job of the Week Sierra Nevada Journeys is committed to delivering innovative, outdoor science-based education programs for youth to develop critical thinking skills and to inspire natural resource stewardship. With an outdoor classroom in Northern California's Plumas National Forest, Outdoor Program Instructors (10-15 openings) are responsible for leading residential, 1-5 day outdoor science educational programs for 12–15 students primarily in 5th and 6th grades from regional schools during the spring and fall season. During the summer months, Instructors may find themselves in a summer camp leadership role and facilitate activities such as the challenge course, swimming, kayaking, and leadership programs. Compensation includes $112.20–$117.20/day, off-site housing, workday meals, extensive training using UC Berkeley's BEETLES teaching techniques, and being part of an inclusive, innovative and equity-focused community!

Cool Job of the Week Environmental Educators for Don Lee Camp & Retreat Center will teach a variety of outdoor exploration programs and activities—from ocean study and chart navigation to fishing, sailing and caring for captive animals. Educators will also double as Challenge Course Facilitators, providing team building, problem-solving and experiential learning. Compensation includes a salary of $425/week (Interns earn $250/week), shared rooms in staff housing, all meals prepared by dining hall staff and WiFi access. Cool Job of the Week Bindlestiff Tour Guides are responsible for delivering in-depth headset commentary to guests on the geology, history, flora, and fauna of the region throughout the Southwest, Northwest, Canadian Rockies, and/or Alaska while driving a 7 or 15-passenger van. Multi-day tours require you to be comfortable towing a 5x8-foot cargo trailer. Additional responsibilities include handling group dynamics, food shopping and cooking, planning and problem solving on the road, maintaining outdoor equipment, managing accounting and paperwork pre and post tour, and ensuring a safe and fun experience for all clients. The base rate for first year Guides ranges from $150-$205/day depending on industry experience, plus a generous seasonal bonus package and 401k. With tips and commissions, experienced Guides can earn as much as $500/day. Benefits include accommodations and meals while on tour, full training, and housing in between tours.
